Who Should Take This Course?
In this course you learn to prevent and manage problems in the water, and become more confident in your skills as a diver, knowing that you can help others if needed. During the course, you learn to become a better buddy by practicing problem solving skills until they become second nature. Plus, the course is just fun – it’s serious, but still allows for lots of laughter in between the focused learning.
One of the Pre-requisites for this course is that you have completed the Emergency First Response Course.
Youngsters aged 12+ may join in as well so long as they have completed the Underwater Navigation Adventure dive.
What Will You Learn?
The PADI Rescue Diver course is designed to prepare you to deal with dive emergencies, both minor and major using a number of effective techniques.
This is again another practical course where you will put into practice all the skills, and knowledge you have learn, some of the topics include:
- Self Rescue
- Recognising & managing stress in other divers
- Emergency management and equipment
- Rescuing panicked divers
- Rescuing unresponsive divers
What Gear Will You Use?
As with all courses you will use your basic scuba equipment and will also need to ensure you have a pocket mask for practicing in-water resuscitation.
During the course you will be using an Oxygen Unit, floats, Marker Buoys and potentially Ressusie Annie may make an appearance too.
